The church had it's informal beginning in 1973, holding singing and fellowship services on Sunday afternoons, in a rundown building used on occasion as a community building to sing and fellowship and invite guest speakers from around the community to come and share the gospel. April of 1979 saw a more formal start when Carroll (Curly) and Bonnie Johnson were asked to become the pastors of the church. The church started with five families. Although the church never kept a formal book of church members, you were always considered a welcomed visitor the first time you came to Peel Community. The second visit you were considered a part of the church family if you chose to be.

1990 saw another change. It was clear the church needed more space. Additions were added to the side and back of the church to house a fellowship hall, additional Sunday school rooms, and a new face to the exterior of the building. With church growth continuing, it wasn't long till it became obvious the facilities would need another overhaul.

Five acres became available which was an ideal location to build a new church with plenty of growth potential for future expansion. So it was decided to purchase the property and build a brand new facility naming it Peel Full Gospel Church.

In 1991 the congregation gathered on the property, joined hands and dedicated the land to the glory to God. We saw a new page in our history with the start of construction on the new church.

Embedded in the walkway entrance is a red cross to remind us as we enter to give glory and honor to God because of what Jesus did for us when he died on the cross and shed his blood that we might have eternal life. The last service in this sanctuary was held on August 6th, 2001, just 10 short years from when it began.

It was a day of mixed emotions. We had seen God so richly bless our church and the members of our community. We had heard the word proclaimed, had seen many salvations, had listened to some of the greatest gospel singing, and had heard testimony after testimony of people saying how you could feel the love and spirit when they came on the property.

Another Chapter Begins

God had yet another purpose for us to fulfill, when groundbreaking again took place in the summer of 2000 as members gathered and encircled the area of the proposed new Sanctuary. This would be one of our biggest undertakings yet. September 2000 saw the foundation started which began 11 months of construction.
